I took this site over in 2004 when the then editor found he had a little too much on his plate.
I did a quick redesign which kept the familiar theme of the site but improved the navigation, and started looking at the actual contents.
After some consultation with the Vicar he pretty much gave me a free hand, within the restraints of the fact that the site represents a Christian church within The Anglican Communion of course.
Changes to the colour scheme and the addition of headers and footers to the pages gave me the opportunity of expanding the site and maintain a consistent navigation.
Extra sections have been added, including a perpetually expanding history section, and more are proposed. The church newsletter is published online every Saturday, and attendence and giving information is updated when it becomes available. The Annual Report will soon follow with on-line publication as, hopefully, will the church's archive of photos, records and publications.
Site visitors have risen from an average of 43 per week in 2004 to an average of 231 a week in 2007.
Stratford is going to be the home of the 2012 Olympics and St John's will be the centre of The Church of England's ministry to the Olympics during that time. We are expecting the site, and the church, to attract more and more visitors as the Olympics approach.
